George Balanchine
I went to a documentary celebrating the life and accomplishments of the amazing George Balanchine at the Lincoln Center. What a great couple of hours that was! Ballet would not exist in this country the way it does today without his work. Cheers George, and thanks for everything.

Why so awesome? They costumes in Black Swan are designed by the Rodarte's Kate and Laura Mulleavy! More about this fabulosity here. I wish I wasn't so scared of this movie. haha

A-OK couple of days
Ups and downs...but mostly ups. Plus, now I get a four day weekend, the ballet, a haircut, a visit with my favorite 90 year old, and fancy time with Nick. :o) Time to bust out the sequins again!

La Danse
Poor Nick sat through TWO AND A HALF HOURS of this documentary at the Film Forum last night. I love ballet but even for me "La Danse" was too long. It followed pretty much every member and worker at the Paris Opera Ballet...which was definitely worth watching, but could've been edited BIG TIME. I'm pretty sure the only movie I've seen that is longer than this one was Titanic...and possibly the 10 Commandments. HAHA
But you know I can't resist a ballet post in the spirit of this long-winded documentary.
